Glossary Alphabet Filter

Apparent Thermal Conductivity

A value assigned to a material that exhibits thermal transmission by several modes of heat transfer resulting in property variation with specimen thickness or surface emittance.

Argon

A stable, non-reactive gas that is often used to to fill the space between window panes in double and triple glazed windows because it is an effective insulator.

Asset

Entity or element useful or valuable for an organisation.

Asset Information Model (AIM)

Asset Information Model is the model that compiles data and information necessary to support asset management.

Asset Information Requirements (AIR)

Define the information required for an Asset Information Model.

Asset life cycle

Asset's useful life from acquisition to disposal.

Asset management

Is the process of operating and maintaining assets in a cost-effective way.

Attribute

Data that describes a characteristic of an object or entity.

Attribute, BIM Attribute, property

A piece of data forming a partial description of an object or entity.

BCF (Building Collaboration Format)

An open file format based on XML that allows the addition of comments to a BIM model to solve issues.
